High-Grade Compounds for the Cable Industry
In the cable industry and especially for communication cable there is a ongoing trend away from PVC and halogenated flame retardants towards cable made of polyolefins. To achieve good flame retardant properties high loadings with inorganic fillers up to 65 % need to be realized.
The particles of inorganic fillers like aluminium trihydroxide (ATH) or magnesia dihydroxide (MDH) need to be dispersed properly to achieve a homogeneous compound and a lubrification during processing of the materials is necessary to reduce the abrasivity of the particles.
Our TEGOMER® additives for cables act on one hand side as dispersing additives and as an internal lubricant on the other hand. In addition, the additives are permanently anchored to the polymer matrix why they do not affect the printability of the final cable. Our additives are available as liquid products or as compound in pelletized form.
